I grew up in The Netherlands and lived in a whole bunch of countries before settling in Melbourne in 2012 with my husband.

Besides being a fully certified Yoga & Pilates instructor in Melbourne, I also plan and host yoga & wine retreats for my first company Retreat Here. I am more than passionate about my work (although I don’t really see it as ‘work’) and I equally love to travel and retreat myself. I like to fuel my body with healthy and wholesome foods, but I’m certainly not shy to enjoy a good pizza and bold Shiraz! In short, I believe life is best lived in balance.

In 2008 I first stepped on my mat because of a severe herniated disc, spinal stenosis and scoliosis in my spine. Thanks to a continuous movement (and meditation) practice and an amazing physiotherapist, my back pain slowly eased. Yoga and Pilates have taught me how to listen to my body, how to improve my posture, and how to use my body and my breath to help me feel and move better. I can honestly say I feel much stronger and more flexible now than when I was in my 20’s.

Both movement practices have given me the passion and inspiration to help others feel at their best. I believe it is vital to keep both body and mind flexible, strong & resilient so you can find balance in a fast-paced world.

Or to put it bluntly:

It can help you to not loose your sh!t when life throws it at you.

I will always encourage you to make every practice a personal practice, and I will always tell you to listen to your body.

I am registered with Yoga Alliance as an E-RYT 200 which means I am registered as an Experienced Teacher who completed a minimum of 200 hours of Yoga Teacher Training with a registered Yoga School. I have also completed my Mat and Reformer Pilates teacher training with APPI - The Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute.

  • 8 week Controlled Strength Program with Power and Posture in Melbourne

  • Applying Anatomy to Yoga workshop with Phoebe Waters

  • 1500+ hours of teaching incl. Vinyasa Yoga, Yin Yoga, Pilates (mat and reformer) and customised classes for private and corporate clients

BESIDES YOGA…

..building my Retreat Here community and travelling, I love spending quality time with my husband, and catching up with friends and family. I enjoy outdoor walks and feeling the sun on my face, recharging my own batteries in nature, and a strong Vinyasa flow in one of Melbourne’s yoga studios.
